Independent e-Huts
Meet Bjartur
(of the Summerhouses)
Guðbjartur is an independent man.
Guðbjartur is a descendant of Vikings.
Guðbjartur‘s ancestors were exiled vikings seeking a new life in a remote sustainable place.
as legend has it, these vikings found sanctuary on a steamy, but frozen uninhabited volcanic island. they called it iceland, and settled in reykjavík, or “smoky bay”. this steam from the land would be geothermal energy, used by the vikings to self-sustain in the winter.
over time, these exiled vikings would form a government, alþingi, society, and thriving economy.
the exiled viking’s secret sauce?
This saga begins with Guðbjartur of the Summerhouses, a strong creative man who glories in his dependence on chosen acres of the fruitful earth. Bjartur says:
iceland is charged by lava.
reykjavík, or “smoky bay, icy island” was charged by naturally occuring geothermal power. the vikings harvested this heat to power industry, grow food, domestic heat.
yes, vikings are independent people.
be like a viking.
surviving on an remote arctic island takes resilience.
thriving on this isolated rock is a whole different saga.
it ain´t nothing but a viking thang.
